Summary: Fresh and Sweet 2006-05-05
Comment: I am partial to fresh, aquatic, and green scents and Eau d'Eden is the best of them all.
Introduced in 1996 as a lighter version of Cacharel's heavy, grunge-era Eden, it's far enough away to be considered a different fragrance altogether. This fragrance, splashed in even copious amounts, could never be considered heavy or pungent; it invites one to come closer. It's a daytime fragrance, especially suited to spring and summer.
I use the word "green" but this is most apparent in the first bursts from the bottle. Consider this an aquatic white floral, and the notes support both: bush hyacinth, water iris, water jasmine, nasturium leaf, white peach, nectarine, wild rose, honeysuckle, sweet william and white musk. The aquatic notes, sometimes sharp in some fragrances, are balanced skillfully with a subtle sweetness that stops just short of being fruity. The impression is clean, fresh, and sweet, with a drydown that mercifully escapes being powdery.
I'm highly sensitive to a lot of fragrance ingredients, and this has never given me a headache.
Eau d'Eden is one of those marvelous well-kept secrets that will leave those in your wake sniffing and guessing.
